Housing
Invite the ISAAC Housing Task Force to your congregation or organization to show Home at Last? This provocative DVD is from NOW, the PBS news program. It investigates a program that secures apartments for long-term homeless people even if they haven't kicked their habits. The evidence is that this approach reduces costs, encourages self-help and counseling participation and restores self-esteem. Your showing can include the local DVD, Ending Homelessness: A Community Priority, handouts on research across the U.S. and on local efforts to replace long-term sheltering with re-housing.
