Only $6470 needed to reach our $50,000 goal!

How’s this for inspired timing! Deb Lindstrom handed us a very generous check for the ISAAC Endowment Fund at the August Leadership Board meeting, right after we announced that with a little stretch, we could reach our $50,000 goal by the end of 2019!  That means we’ll become a fully established endowment fund at the Kalamazoo Community Foundation a whole year early! Thanks to Deb and many more of you, we only need to raise $6470 more! That’s Deb pictured with her new grandson.  Here are her words:

“I feel that the ISAAC endowment is a great way to invest in ISAAC for the future, to work towards our vision of a Beloved Community.  I appreciate that I can be one of the initial ISAAC endowment contributors to help keep a focus in Kalamazoo on social justice.  There is still opportunity for more people to contribute to this endowment!  We can’t predict the future, but we can invest in this endowment to help meet the challenges that will exist for social justice work in Kalamazoo.

“For the past several years I have had the blessing of serving on the Foundation Committee at my home church.  In less than 40 years, the endowment has grown significantly.  This happened by the committee distributing just 5% of the dividend income earned each year.  In 2018 the committee was able to distribute about the equivalent amount of money that the original contributors had collected to start the endowment.  The endowment has supported innovative and creative programs that go beyond what is funded through our church operating budget.”

If you can, please help us reach the ISAAC Endowment Fund goal with a gift of any size, or with a charitable distribution (tax free) if you have a individual retirement account and are at least 70 ½!  Please make your check to Kalamazoo Community Foundation and put “ISAAC Endowment Fund” in the memo space.  Send it to the ISAAC office, or give it to Dr. Charlae Davis, or mail it directly to:

Thank you for all the many ways you support our work together to cultivate the Beloved Community.
