Interfaith Strategy for Advocacy & Action in the Community

Community Meet and Greet with Manager Malcolm Hankins. Hosted by our Douglass Community Association Family – April 14, 2026

“…We had a good time this past week hosting a Meet & Greet for The City of Kalamazoo, Michigan City Manager Malcolm Hankins. It was cool being able to mingle with the Boss of city government workers.

He explained that he works at the will of the City Commission (they are voted on/elected by city residents), then day-to-day he carries out and oversees their plans/direction. He supervises the Public Safety Chief, Public Works Director, Economic Development Director, and others. He does not supervise the City Attorney, Auditor, Clerk or Assessor – they also work at the will of the City Commission.

Special thanks to Dr. Charlae Davis and the ISAAC, Interfaith Strategy for Advocacy & Action in the Community family with planning, some of our wonderful partners for participating, Davis Delectables for the great bites, and community for coming by!”
