One of Beloved Community. love, peace, collaboration, unity and joy.
Poverty, Gun Violence, Racism, Education. We’re choosing TWO of these four issues. All four are priorities that came from our Listening to the community, but we cannot work on all of them at once.
You don’t have to be a member. All individuals who attend can vote, including children. We will “vote with our feet” by going to the poster for the issue we would like to work on for the next two years.
As ongoing work in ISAAC, Housing and GVI (Group Violence Intervention) will give presentations for community accountability, but with no vote.
We ask that you be a part of the Task Force to move this work forward.
We are voting on 2 issues. No more. The issue is still vital and important, yet no issue is better than the other and we do not rank or compare injustices. There are no winners or losers in this process. Though ISAAC won’t work on this issue as a priority, other Kalamazoo community organizations will work on this issue and you may continue to work within the community. The work doesn’t stop.
These issues are personal and near to our hearts. So, these emotions are real. But with all emotions we will not act in privilege or power. We are modeling the Beloved Community, being respectful always of this democracy and supporting the work of ISAAC no matter what. We will do no harm to others or our community.

Here are all the teams working on their brief, engaging presentations for the Issues Convention:
