Congratulations to all the recipients of this year’s Human Rights Awards given by Church Women United!  So many of them are part of ISAAC!  Left to right in the photo, they are:

  • Rev. Morris Brooks from Mt. Zion Baptist Church, which just generously hosted the ISAAC Public Meeting
  • Janette Evans, Trenches Community Church
  • Deacon Patricia Catellier, Portage Chapel Hill United Methodist Church and representative to the ISAAC Leadership Board
  • Don Cooney, Kalamazoo City Commissioner and a leader on anti-poverty work
  • Kathleen Cooney, First Presbyterian Church and ISAAC Housing Task Force member
  • Dr. Charlae Davis, ISAAC Executive Director and a Racial Healing Circles facilitator with Truth, Racial Healing and Transformation
  • Rev. Julie Kline, Associate Pastor at First United Methodist Church and a leader of Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America
Each one spoke movingly about their passion for doing God’s work in the world.  Thank you to each of them for faithfully following their calling. And thank you to Church Women United for their long history of recognizing the Human Rights leaders in our midst and creating the Beloved Community.
