ISAAC is excited to welcome Pine Island Presbyterian Church, under the leadership of Rev. Sara Dorrien-Christians, as a new Member! Pine Island, whose motto is, “Rooted In Faith…Reaching Out In Love”, is located in Texas Corners on 8th St.
Rev. Sara Dorrien-Christians has been pastor of Pine Island since 2013 and is a native of Kalamazoo. She is a Kalamazoo Central Graduate and earned her Master of Divinity at Columbia Theological Seminary. Among many activities, Rev. Dorrien-Christians is currently engaged in important work around gun violence prevention.
Pine Island has been a supporter of ISAAC’s Annual Banquet for years. Our hearts were overjoyed to learn that during their Christmas Eve service, congregants raised a generous offering for ISAAC’s work of justice. Rev. Dorrien-Christians and Pine Island are excited to become more involved in ISAAC.
We at ISAAC feel blessed by their membership and would like to again welcome Pine Island to our ISAAC family!

Ed Genesis is an artist, poet, musician, organizer, entrepreneur, and community leader. Born and raised in Gary, Indiana and moved to Kalamazoo, Michigan permanently in his early 20’s, his love of art/music, his passion for his people and community, and his gift of creativity are evident in all areas of his work. In October 2018 Ed Genesis released a song to accompany the campaign he was working on around school push out, entitled Junior High, which was distributed nationwide including on his own iHeart radio station, Spotify, and iTunes.
