Interfaith Strategy for Advocacy & Action in the Community

President’s Message

James 1:19Understand this, my beloved brothers and sisters. Let everyone be quick to hear [be a careful, thoughtful listener], slow to speak [a speaker of carefully chosen words and], slow to anger [patient, reflective, forgiving]; (Amplified Bible)

Thoughtful Listeners:

A heartfelt thank you goes out to all of the volunteers who participated in our 2017 Listening Campaign. This year our volunteers canvassed both the Westnedge Hill neighborhood and the Milwood neighborhood. Our goal was to listen and hear the hearts of the residents who live in those neighborhoods. In a world where it seems that everyone is very quick to speak, ISAAC is determined that we will be quick to hear and then speak what comes from the hearts of the people. As strange as it may sound, the focus of ISAAC’s Listening Campaign is to listen. In a world where there seems to be a tremendous amount of noise, there’s a great importance that we find the time to listen. We must no longer tell people what they need but allow the people to tell us what they need and then go forth in our work of addressing the concerns important to our communities.

Again, thank you to all of the dedicated walkers who diligently gathered all of the critical information for ISAAC to move forward for the next two years.

Lastly, if it’s important to you, then it’s important to ISAAC!

#welisten!
