Youth Violence Must be a Priority!

Youth Violence Task ForceYouth Violence Task Force Report

The Youth Violence Task force met and began what promises to be an exciting and purposeful action related to Youth Violence in Kalamazoo. The task force members shared their personal reason for joining the task force. The experiences and motivations were compelling.

Co-chair Vanessa Collins-Smith and with Wendy Flora, shared the history of the task force and several activities and groups also addressing youth violence in Kalamazoo. Vanessa discussed several parallel thoughts and actions in the community including, April 4-6 2016, “National Association of Students Against Youth Violence.”

The work ahead for this committee is exciting and inspiring. If you are interested in our discussions, join the task force the second Monday of each month, 6:00, in the St. Luke’s Library.
