Early Childhood & Education Report

IMG_1947Rochelle Habeck

The need for strengthening early childhood and education was strongly supported at the 2015 ISAAC Issues Convention and is one of three going forward! If you missed it, you can see the video we showed.

Join us at our first meeting, Monday night October 26, 7:00 to 8:30 pm at St. Luke’s Church (office entrance at back, red doors). Help select our permanent meeting time and place and start the process of our issue development.

Please come and invite others to watch and discuss the screening of a new documentary The Raising of America, Tuesday, October 20th, 6:30-8:00 pm at Chenery Auditorium. It’s an eye-opening film about children’s early health and development and the compelling case for investing in their well-being and those who raise and care for them.  “Change the first five years and you change everything!”

“ISAAC has continually and steadfastly advocated for a better way to address youth violence in the City of Kalamazoo, and were instrumental in garnering our commitment to adopting a “Group Violence Intervention” Model.”
