“Listening Engagement” on August 12 & 13, 2017

This is fun but very important—listening to community residents’ thoughts about the strengths of their neighborhoods and what changes they’d like to see.  You don’t need to know anything about ISAAC to help.  You get a partner, a clipboard with the questions to ask, a map of the part of the neighborhood that’s yours to do, and a little training, plus some snacks before you start.  Then you have the pleasure of listening, really listening, and jotting a few notes.

This process of listening is essential to the decision we’ll make this fall, on which 3 social justice issues are the highest priorities for us to focus on for the next two years. At the end of October, we’ll have our Issues Convention, where we see mini-presentations on the 6 social justice issues that community residents brought up the most often. We’ll choose the 3 that we feel the most called to tackle, and we’ll get right to work on seeing what policy changes would help address those concerns.

Sign up to help!  Ask others to join you!  We need you—on either date, or both!

Saturday, August 12th, 1:00-4:30 pm and Sunday, August 13th, 2:00-5:30 pm
