ISAAC
I am excited to introduce ISAAC’s new Office Manager/Bookkeeper, Torian Johnson! A native of Kalamazoo, Torian graduated from Kalamazoo Central and is a longtime supporter of social justice in this community.
Torian went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts, with a Minor in Marketing, from Western Michigan University. Torian then traveled abroad to earn a Master of Business Administration in London. Soon afterward she earned a Post Graduate Certificate in Political and Economic Developments in Thailand. Her work locally and overseas has given her a great appreciation for culture and an awareness of institutionally equity.
Torian joins us with a plethora of experience and knowledge in office management and financial transactions having worked with the Black Arts and Cultural Center and Kalamazoo Children’s Chorus. With strong communication, organizational, Information Technology, problem solving and interpersonal skills, Torian is a great asset to ISAAC!
Torian has hit the ground running, since her appointment, having contributed to our successful Issues Convention, funding appeal and ISAAC friends and family breakfast.

Ed Genesis is an artist, poet, musician, organizer, entrepreneur, and community leader. Born and raised in Gary, Indiana and moved to Kalamazoo, Michigan permanently in his early 20’s, his love of art/music, his passion for his people and community, and his gift of creativity are evident in all areas of his work. In October 2018 Ed Genesis released a song to accompany the campaign he was working on around school push out, entitled Junior High, which was distributed nationwide including on his own iHeart radio station, Spotify, and iTunes.
